Judging the winners - 2006/05/03 18:38 What's the deal with how the winners get judged?
Surely the person with the fastest time should win right?

But instead we get judged on our creativity? Agents who take time to think up witty replies in the field end up dead. Top secret govenment agencies don't appreciate a smartarse and yet in this case this very aspect is being actively encouraged. It's enough to make an agent want to go dark.

Creativity is by far too subjective a means of judging one's skills as a spy and I had thougt it would only come down to this in the unlikely event of a tie between state winners.

But what do I care, it's not like I'm a state winner anymore anyway. Time to turn rouge agent methinks.

Now where did I leave me copy of the noclist...

Re:Judging the winners - 2006/05/03 18:41 Haha! Nicely put... I was thinking the same thing. The "Rules of Play" weren't very clear on that. I was fastest in Sydney until the last morning and still thought I had no shot at it. Well, I don't now anyway...

Re:Judging the winners - 2006/05/03 19:08 The terms and conditions point 7 have always stated:

"One overall winner will be judged from the pool of state winners. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and humour."

Taken from:

7. This promotion is a game of skill. The participant to complete the course in the shortest time in their city will win a state prize. In the event of a tie the winner will be decided by their answer to the question “Why would you like to be an IMF agent”. One overall winner will be judged from the pool of state winners. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality and humour. The judging will take place at Level 3, 208 Clarence Street, Sydney on May 5. The winner will be notified by phone and email. The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Re:Judging the winners - 2006/05/03 21:40 I think you'll find that anytim a competition is run in a lottery style (ie everyone has an equal chance of winning) a Licence is required in every state the competition is run. But if there's a "tell us is 25 words or less..." clause, it then becomes a game of skill and no licence is required... so it may be just to save money, hassles, etc...

Re:Judging the winners - 2006/05/05 17:08 that's so bullshit. i read those bloody terms over and over again. the wording is ambiguous. it first says that the last sms will be used in the event of a tie. fine - so i kick the arse off everyone else by TWENTY MINUTES and you're worried about the last damn sms.
