In August 2024, Sydney offers a diverse array of events and activities
Watch the Olympics at The Tumbalong Park Sound Shell till 11th August:
Take a trip back down memory lane to FIFA Women’s World Cup times when you could get lost in a sea of green and gold at Darling Harbour. Thanks to its popularity the first time around, Tumbalong Park will once again turn into a live site for the Olympics.

Only this time, it will be held in the epic new Sound Shell, which was built thanks to a $10 million investment from Placemaking NSW. The site is complete with two 9- x 5-metre digital screens, permanent speakers and acoustic panelling. As well as the big screens, there’ll be Olympic challenges and food trucks.

Concerts and Music:

  1. Khalid’s Album Launch:
    • Khalid will be performing live at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on August 5 and 6 to celebrate the release of his new album Sincere.
  2. How to Train Your Dragon Live In Concert:
    • From August 23 to September 3, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will perform John Powell’s Academy Award-nominated score live at the Sydney Opera House.
  3. Handel’s House with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra:”
    • Featuring soprano Yukie Sato, this concert will run from August 30 to September 7 at the City Recital Hall.

      Known for their unique blend of noise rock and electronic music, HEALTH will deliver an intense live performance at Manning Bar.
    • Beddy Rays: at Entrance Leagues Club, Gosford on August 4:
      This up-and-coming Australian band will entertain with their catchy and energetic tunes.
    • The Aston Shuffle: at Ivy Sydney on August 10:
      The electronic music duo will bring their infectious dance beats to Ivy Sydney for a night of non-stop music.
    • Grace Cummings: at The Great Club, Marrickville on August 15:
      Known for her powerful voice and soulful performances, Grace Cummings will deliver a memorable set.
    • International Blues Music Day: at Marrickville Bowling Club on August 5:
      Celebrate with various blues artists performing throughout the day.
    • Ulcerate (NZ) with Pestilential Shadows and Golgothan Remains: at The Factory Floor, Marrickville on August 25:
      For fans of extreme metal, this concert promises a night of intense and powerful performances.

  5. Candlelight Concerts:
